Liverpool are reportedly still interested in signing Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho and could challenge Manchester United for the attacker's signature this summer.
United are thought to be at the head of the queue for the 20-year-old, who has scored 20 times and registered 20 assists in 39 appearances for BVB during the 2019-20 campaign.
However, according to The Independent, Liverpool are not out of the race for the England international, who has been made aware of the interest from Jurgen Klopp's side.
The report claims that the finances involved would be a problem for the European champions, though, as they have already pulled out of a deal for RB Leipzig's Timo Werner 'due to budget reasons'.
Dortmund are believed to value Sancho in excess of £100m, leading to suggestions that United could attempt to lower the price by including at least one player as a makeweight.
Liverpool are allegedly even prepared to wait until next summer to sign the former Manchester City youngster, whose existing deal at Signal Iduna Park is due to expire in June 2022.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also previously been credited with an interest.
