Liverpool allegedly have an advantage in the race to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly during the next transfer window.

Liverpool allegedly hope that Sadio Mane will provide them with an advantage in the race to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

With the Italian giants said to be open to a sale during the next transfer window, a number of Premier League clubs are preparing to make an approach.

As well as the Merseyside giants, Manchester United, Everton and Newcastle United have also been strongly linked with the 28-year-old.

However, according to The Express, Liverpool are hopeful that Mane's presence in their dressing room could lead to the arrival of his Senegalese compatriot.

The two players, now stars on both the club and international scene, also played alongside each other at Metz during the early stages of their career.

Napoli are likely to demand in the region of £70m for their most prized asset.
