Liverpool are reportedly among a number of clubs who are monitoring the situation with Lyon forward Rayan Cherki.
Despite his status as one of European football's brightest prospects, the 18-year-old has been provided with just five starts in a struggling team this season.
Although a further 12 outings have come from the substitutes' bench, Cherki is currently unlikely to extend his contract past the end of 2022-23.
According to L'Equipe, Liverpool are one of four clubs who possess an interest in signing the youngster during one of the next two transfer windows.
Manchester United, Real Madrid and Nice are also said to be admirers of the player, who has scored four goals in three games at Under-21 level with France.
Lyon are currently struggling to secure European football for next season, something which may influence their valuation of Cherki in the summer.
