Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez reportedly rejected the chance to join Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
Hernandez, who played a key role in France winning the 2018 World Cup, only signed a new long-term contract with Atletico this summer.
Earlier this month, it was reported that United were interested in signing the Frenchman and would be prepared to pay his £72m release clause to complete a deal.
According to Marca, United actually made an offer for Hernandez during the summer transfer window, but the defender turned down the chance to move to England as he is happy at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The same report, however, claims that United will return with a bid during the January transfer window.
Hernandez operated at left-back for France during the 2018 World Cup but can also play in central defence.
