Real Madrid have reportedly offered James Rodriguez as part of a deal to sign Paul Pogba in next summer's transfer window.
The Frenchman is tipped to seek a move away from Old Trafford next year having declared in June that he wanted a new challenge.
Los Blancos were said to be keen on signing Pogba over the summer but United held firm in their £160m valuation of the midfielder.
According to Manchester Evening News, Madrid are open to the prospect of selling Rodriguez in order to sign Pogba.
It was widely reported over the summer that the La Liga side proposed a player-plus-cash deal comprising Rodriguez and a fee of £27.4m for the 26-year-old.
Despite playing an important role under Zinedine Zidane this season, making nine appearances in total, Rodriguez is understood to be open to leaving the Bernabeu.
