Manchester City have reportedly withdrawn their interest in Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.
City - as well as neighbours Manchester United - have been strongly linked with an approach for the England international at a time when they are both looking to sign new centre-backs.
However, Leicester's valuation of the 26-year-old - said to be in the region of £90m - has proven to be a stumbling block for both clubs with just five weeks to go until the new Premier League campaign.
According to 90 min, City are now out of the race for Maguire, insisting that they will not pay over £75m for the player.
The report adds that United are now regarded as the clear favourites, providing that they are willing to improve their latest bid of £70m.
United assistant Mike Phelan is said to be 'pushing' the club to sign the former Sheffield United and Hull City man.
