Manchester United and Chelsea, among other clubs, are reportedly keeping a close eye on 17-year-old Hoffenheim striker Max Moerstedt.

The highly-rated teenager, who came through the youth ranks at Bayern Munich, is on the brink of breaking into Hoffenheim's first team.

Moerstedt, who stands around 6'4, fits the mould of a classic number nine striker, and his recent performances at the Under-17s World Cup have attracted the attention of several clubs across Europe.

According to 90min, Man United and Chelsea scouts were impressed with the teenager, and Brighton & Hove Albion, who are known for their talent development, are also believed to be interested.

The report adds that Serie A sides Atalanta BC and Juventus have also been closely monitoring the young forward's progress.

Moerstedt was a key performer for his national side at the Under-17s World Cup and scored four goals, including a penalty in Germany's victory over France in the final of the competition.

Before his World Cup campaign, the teenager netted 10 goals in nine games for Hoffenheim's Under-19s in the league, which included a four-goal haul against Heidenheim and a hat-trick against Kaiserslautern.

During the first half of the previous season, Moerstedt played for Hoffenheim's Under-17s team and contributed to 16 goals in 11 games, which saw him promoted to the Under-19s level midway through the season.
