Manchester United have reportedly made progress in their efforts to sign Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon.
Having spent the last campaign on loan at Sevilla, it has been claimed that Reguilon would prefer to return to the Europa League winners for a second successive year.
However, Sevilla are now in discussions to sign Porto's Marcos Acuna, a development which effectively clears the way for United to hold less-complicated negotiations with Real.
According to Marca, the 23-year-old is now more inclined to make the switch to Old Trafford, aware that he will not be presented with opportunities at the Bernabeu.
Although a fee of £22.5m has been mentioned, much could depend on whether United are prepared to accept Real's request to include a buy-back option in any deal.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with an approach for the Spaniard.
