Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, despite signing Andre Onana last summer as the long-term replacement for David de Gea.
Onana arrived at Old Trafford from Inter Milan for a fee of around £43m and worked with Erik ten Hag during his time in the Eredivisie with Ajax.
However, the Cameroonian international has gained mixed reviews for his performances this season and has faced criticism about his shot-stopping ability after a couple of errors in the Champions League and domestically.
According to Il Messaggero via Football Italia, Man United are now closely monitoring Provedel as an option and could consider making a move for the Lazio number one next summer.
The Biancocelesti would demand at least £30m for the 29-year-old, who has kept six clean sheets in his 18 games this season and memorably scored a last-gasp goal to earn his side a draw against Atletico Madrid on matchday one of the Champions League group stage.
Lazio signed Provedel for a fee of £2m from Spezia Calcio last August, and his current contract runs until June 2027.
United brought in Altay Bayindir as a backup goalkeeper, but he is yet to make his first start for the club and has been linked with a possible move back to Turkey.
Tom Heaton has also received limited game time, and his current deal with The Red Devils is set to expire next summer.
