Manchester United are reportedly on high alert with the news that Raphael Varane could be ready to seek a move away from Real Madrid in this summer's transfer window.
Varane has been with Madrid since 2011, making more than 250 appearances for the Spanish giants.
The 25-year-old has won two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and four Champions League crowns during his time at the Bernabeu, but the centre-back's form during the 2018-19 campaign has been inconsistent.
According to L'Equipe, Varane, who has a contract with Madrid until the summer of 2022, is considering leaving the Spanish capital at the end of the current season.
Varane was linked with a move to United before he joined Los Blancos from Lens, while the 20-time English champions have been consistently credited with an interest in the 2018 World Cup winner over the last few seasons.
Previous reports have claimed that United would have to come up with a world-record bid for a defender if they wanted to sign the Frenchman this summer.
