Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly instructed his scouting team to monitor Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie.
Van Gaal conceded at the weekend that his squad at Old Trafford lacked the necessary "speed and creativity" in wide areas.
That admission has resulted in a number of players being linked with a January switch to the Red Devils, including Southampton's Sadio Mane and Anwar El Ghazi of Ajax.
However, according to The Sun, Scotland international Ritchie has also captured Van Gaal's attention over recent weeks.
The 26-year-old scored 15 goals and assisted a further 17 as the Cherries clinched promotion to the Premier League last term.
This season Ritchie has found the net twice from his 12 outings in the top flight.
