Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in 18-year-old Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga amidst rumours linking Paul Pogba with a move away from the club.
The Red Devils have supposedly been in pole position for the Frenchman's signature throughout the entirety of the summer transfer window so far, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have fully switched his attention to the midfielder after securing the signature of Jadon Sancho.
The step up in interest coincides with rumours around the exit of Paul Pogba, who has reportedly been approached by Paris Saint-Germain as he heads into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester club are now firmly frontrunners for the signature of the Rennes midfielder, amidst rumoured interest from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, as he also enters the final year of his contract.
With their desire for a midfielder growing should Pogba leave the club this summer, Manchester United are reportedly set to pull the trigger and bring the French prospect to Old Trafford.
At the age of 18, Camavinga has already featured for the French outfit 82 times, including four Champions League appearances and 67 games in Ligue 1, helping them to a sixth-placed finish last season and an impressive third-placed finish in the 2019-20 campaign.
