Manchester United 'to launch Daley Blind bid in next 48 hours'

Manchester United will launch a £15m bid for Ajax's Daley Blind in the next 48 hours after losing out on Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona, a report claims.

Manchester United will reportedly make a bid for Ajax defender Daley Blind in the next 48 hours.

The 24-year-old, who was named Dutch Footballer of the Year last season, is now said to be top of Louis van Gaal's summer wishlist after Thomas Vermaelen completed his move to Barcelona earlier today.

The Mirror claims that United will launch a £15m bid for Blind in the next two days, and the Eredivisie champions are resigned to losing the Netherlands international.

On a potential move to the Red Devils, the same report quotes Blind as saying: "What will I do when Louis van Gaal tells me he wants me to come to Manchester United? I will consider it.

"The World Cup has been a massive boost for my experience and I have made no secret that I will listen when a nice offer comes my way."

Ajax are rumoured to have lined up Hedwiges Maduro of PAOK Athens as a replacement.
