Manchester United players are desperate for Paul Pogba to sign a new long-term contract at the club, according to a report.

Manchester United players reportedly view Paul Pogba as 'a captain' at the club and are desperate for the midfielder to sign a new long-term contract.

The 28-year-old's existing deal at Old Trafford is due to expire next summer, meaning that he could be sold during this summer's transfer window, with Juventus thought to lead the race for his signature.

However, according to The Sun, Pogba's teammates would be 'devastated' if the France international were to leave the club ahead of next season.

The World Cup winner has struggled with ankle and hamstring injuries this term but has still made 32 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and four assists in the process.

Pogba initially left Man United for Juve in 2012 before returning to Old Trafford in 2016.

Real Madrid are also thought to have a long-standing interest in the midfielder, but a recent report claimed that he could be used as part of a swap deal for Old Lady forward Paulo Dybala.
