Manchester United are reportedly set to reignite their interest in West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in the summer of 2022.
The England international was thought to have been the subject of interest from United, Manchester City and Chelsea in the most recent transfer window, but all three sides were put off by West Ham's £80m valuation.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side failed to bring a new midfielder to the club ahead of the 2021-22 season, although they have kept Paul Pogba on the books for at least another year.
However, with engine room additions thought to be a must for United next summer, ESPN claims that Rice remains on the radar of Red Devils chiefs.
The report adds that United instead decided to prioritise a new winger - Jadon Sancho - and new centre-back - Raphael Varane - in the most recent window, while West Ham will likely have to lower their demands for Rice next year.
Liverpool have also recently been credited with an interest in Rice, who will supposedly only sign a new deal at West Ham if a release clause is inserted.
The 22-year-old has already made 148 appearances for West Ham in all competitions, scoring five goals and setting up six more.
