Manchester United have taken up the option of a one-year extension with defender Matteo Darmian, according to a report.
The Italy international was due to be out of contract at the end of the campaign, leaving him free to discuss terms with foreign clubs.
Talks over a move to Juventus are believed to still be ongoing, but the London Evening Standard suggests that the Serie A champions will have to hand over a fee as the versatile full-back will now be under contract until the summer of 2020.
United are hoping to recoup the £12.7m paid to sign Darmian from Torino in 2015, which Juventus may still consider a bargain fee.
Darmian is said to favour a return to the Italian top flight after being restricted to just five Premier League appearances this term.
