Manchester United, Arsenal 'eye Djibril Sidibe swoop'

Manchester United and Arsenal are both reportedly considering a summer move for Monaco full-back and World Cup winner Djibril Sidibe.

Manchester United and Arsenal are both reportedly interested in signing Monaco full-back Djibril Sidibe this summer.

Sidibe was thought to be closing in on a move to Atletico Madrid prior to the World Cup, but he remains at Monaco having helped France to be crowned world champions in Russia.

L'Equipe reports that the lack of progress in his proposed move to Spain has alerted both United and Arsenal, who are considering an approach for the 25-year-old.

Both Premier League clubs have already brought in new full-backs this summer, with United signing Diogo Dalot and Arsenal snapping up Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer.

However, United boss Jose Mourinho is still looking for further defensive reinforcements, while new Arsenal manager Unai Emery has refused to rule out the possibility of a sixth signing of the transfer window should a good opportunity arise.

Should Sidibe arrive at the Emirates Stadium then it could open the door for Hector Bellerin to leave, although the Spaniard has said that he will still be at the club at the start of the new season.

Sidibe would also likely command a hefty fee as he still has four years remaining on his contract at the Stade Louis II.
