Manchester United confirm that they have rejected a second Chelsea bid of £25m plus add-ons for Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United have confirmed that they have rejected a second bid from Chelsea for striker Wayne Rooney.

Reports emerged this morning claiming that the Blues have failed once again in an attempt to sign the England international following a previous £20m offer, which was instantly rebuffed.

It has since been confirmed by the Premier League champions that an alleged bid of £25m plus add-ons has been rejected, according to BBC Sport.

A spokesman from the club said: "A bid was received yesterday and immediately rejected. Our position remains that he is not for sale."

Some reports have claimed that Rooney is ready to submit a transfer request in order to push through a move to Stamford Bridge.
