Manchester United have reportedly made a move to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to make significant changes to his first-team squad this summer, meaning that fresh faces could arrive in the centre of the pitch.
Rakitic is allegedly keen to remain at Camp Nou, but The Mirror claims that United are prepared to push through a £48m deal for the Croatia international.
Barcelona are open to selling Rakitic this summer, with the Catalan giants having already secured the signing of Frenkie de Jong from Ajax.
The La Liga champions also want to raise funds to complete other deals ahead of next season, and parting ways with 31-year-old Rakitic is said to be regarded as good business.
