Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Napoli over Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
The versatile defender has enjoyed an impressive campaign with the Serie A outfit this term, registering two goals and four assists in 25 league outings.
According to Calcio Napoli 24, Napoli do not want to part ways with the 26-year-old, but the Red Devils have supposedly spoken to Di Lorenzo's agent over a potential transfer.
The report also claims that United will primarily be looking to use the Italy international as a back-up option, and their contact at this stage is allegedly to find out more about the defender rather than any official approach to buy.
Di Lorenzo joined Napoli from Empoli last summer and is under contract at the Stadio San Paolo until 2024.
