Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to watch Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali.

The Red Devils are preparing a £40m bid for the highly-rated 19-year-old as they look to bolster their midfield options, according to The Sun.

The Italian has impressed over the last year-and-a-half, helping Brescia earn promotion to Serie A and continuing to excel in the top flight this season.

Tonali looks to be an upgrade on United's current options in the centre of the park such as Nemanja Matic, Fred and Scott McTominay.

However, United will have to contend for his signature with rivals Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and a host of top Italian clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus.
