Manchester United have reportedly identified Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele and Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic as potential additions during the January transfer window.
While United spent big to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Daniel James before the start of the new campaign, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains keen to make further signings.
The departures of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku have left United short in the final third, which is likely to lead to at least one fresh face at the midway point of the season.
According to The Independent, Solskjaer has indicated that he is interested in signing Dembele and Mandzukic, both of whom could be allowed to leave their respective clubs.
Both Barcelona and Juventus allegedly need to raise funds over the next 12 months in order to comply with FFP regulations, while they will each have next summer's transfer business in mind.
Dembele could cost anywhere between £80m and £100m, although Mandzukic will be available for a cut-price fee.
