Manchester United 'willing to sell Daniel James for Jadon Sancho funds'

Manchester United will consider selling Daniel James in order to raise funds for their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly willing to offload Daniel James in order to raise funds for a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.

United's pursuit of the England international is set to continue right up to the October 5 deadline, despite Dortmund's insistence that Sancho will not be going anywhere during the transfer window.

The Red Devils have already seen a bid of £91.3m rejected by the Bundesliga giants, although United will supposedly look to raise enough money to meet Dortmund's £108m valuation before the window shuts.

According to ESPN, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is open to parting ways with James, who has struggled to break into the team ahead of the likes of Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford lately.

The report claims that Leeds United, whose pursuit of James before the 23-year-old joined Man United was well-documented, are still after the £25m-rated Welshman, although the powers-that-be at Old Trafford are reluctant to sanction a sale.

Manchester United's search for a right-sided attacker has also seen them linked with Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele, while Sevilla forward Lucas Ocampos has recently emerged as a potential alternative to Sancho.

James has chalked up four goals from 48 appearances since arriving at United from Swansea City, and the winger's current deal at Old Trafford will expire in 2024.
