Manchester United could reportedly attempt to sign Harry Kane in January 2024 if Tottenham Hotspur refuse to let him leave during this summer's transfer window.
The 29-year-old's future is again the subject of much speculation, with Man United believed to have made him their leading target in the upcoming market.
However, a recent report claimed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would refuse to sell the England captain to either the Red Devils or Manchester City this summer.
Man United are said to be reluctant of getting drawn into a long transfer saga, as was the case last summer when they failed to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
Kane only has a contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until June 2024, and a recent report claimed that the forward has told close friends that he will not be signing a new deal at the club.

Bayern Munich are also being linked with the Englishman, although it remains to be see whether the Bundesliga giants can come up with the funds needed to sign him.
Any deal for Kane is likely to be in the region of £100m, with Tottenham able to ask for a high price due to his standing as one of the leading strikers in world football.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Man United are preparing for Spurs refusing to do business with them in the upcoming market.
The report claims that the Red Devils would be willing to wait until January 2004 to sign Kane, which would represent the last window that he could be sold if he does not sign a new deal.

Man United are also being linked with Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani, but it is understood that Kane is their leading target in the final third.
The forward has recently become both Tottenham and England's leading goalscorer, but it is set to be another trophyless campaign for him, while Spurs are facing a battle to make the top four in the Premier League.
The North London outfit are currently fifth in the table, three points behind fourth-placed Man United, who have a game in hand.
Kane has again been in impressive form for Tottenham during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 24 goals and registering four assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.
