Manchester United have reportedly been informed that they would need to spend £80m to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The midfielder has been a key figure in a Brighton side that are currently sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table, as they attempt to qualify for European football.
Caicedo has started 26 of his 27 Premier League appearances this term, chipping in with one goal and one assist.
Brighton had to fend off interest from Arsenal in the January transfer window after receiving a £70m offer for the 21-year-old.
Caicedo pushed for the transfer to happen after taking to Instagram to plead his case, but the Seagulls held firm and rejected Arsenal's approach.

The 21-year-old has since signed a new long-term contract until June 2027, which includes an option for Brighton to extend by a further year.
The new contract is not expected to quash the idea of a summer departure, but it leaves Brighton in a strong position in any transfer negotiations.
According to Football Insider, Brighton have indicated that they will be willing to part ways with the midfielder for an £80m fee.
Brighton's asking price will interest Man United, who have emerged as a potential destination for the Ecuador international.

Scott McTominay is currently being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, while Marcel Sabitzer is expected to return to Bayern Munich when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.
As a result, Man United boss Erik ten Hag is likely to delve into the transfer market in a bid to strengthen his midfield this summer.
A recent report claimed that the Red Devils are also considering a move for Caicedo's Brighton teammate Alexis Mac Allister.
Brighton are currently preparing for an away meeting with Chelsea before they face Man United in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.
