Manchester United have reportedly lodged a bid in the region of £22m for Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi.
The 22-year-old, who is likely to feature against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League this evening, is said to have been extensively scouted by Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea over recent months.
However, Gazetta World claims that the Red Devils are the first interested party to make a firm offer for the Italy Under-21 international.
The report adds, though, that Fiorentina are likely to hold out for a financial proposal of around £30m.
It is believed that Sir Alex Ferguson attempted to sign Bernardeschi during his time in charge of United, but the move was blocked by the player's father.
