Manchester United are reportedly considering a January move for Real Madrid's Marco Asensio, whose current contract expires next summer.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to launch a bid to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio in January.

The Spain international was linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, but a transfer away never materialised.

Asensio is yet to start for Real Madrid this term, and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, his future with the European champions appears to still be uncertain.

According to Todo Fichajes, Manchester United are interested in signing the 26-year-old, and they could make a bid to sign him when the transfer window opens in January.

Asensio is believed to be open to extending his deal with Los Blancos, but following reports that his agent Jorge Mendes spoke to Barcelona about a potential free transfer next summer, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reluctant to offer a new contract.

While Real Madrid assesses the situation, Asensio continues to be linked with United and Barcelona, as well as Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
