Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha has reportedly rejected the chance to sign for Manchester United this summer.
Erik ten Hag is allegedly hoping to sign as many as five players in the final two weeks of the transfer window, including a centre-forward.
A recent report claimed that the Red Devils had reached an agreement with Atletico to sign Cunha for a fee of £42m.
However, reports in Spain claims that the 23-year-old Brazil international has turned down the chance to move to Old Trafford in favour of staying in the Spanish capital.
The report adds that Cunha is settled in Madrid having only joined the La Liga giants from Hertha Berlin last summer for around £23m.

Atletico also view the forward as part of their long-term plans going forward, with the Brazilian set to compete with Alvaro Morata, Antoine Griezmann and Joao Felix for regular starts under Diego Simeone.
Cunha put pen to paper on a five-year contract when he arrived from Hertha 12 months ago, and a release clause of around £59m is believed to have been inserted in his deal.
The Paraiba-born attacker scored seven goals and registered eight assists in 38 appearances for Atletico across all competitions last season.
Cunha started only eight times in La Liga, however, and will be hoping for more regular game time as he bids to represent Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Cunha is not the only Atletico forward who has caught the eye of United, as they are believed to have held talks with the Spanish club over the availability of both Morata and Felix.
It is understood that the Red Devils firstly held discussions about Morata before expressing their interest in Felix, but Atletico currently have no plans to let either player leave this summer.
Both Morata and Felix starred in Atletico's opening La Liga game of the new season, with the latter setting up the former for two goals in their 3-0 win over Getafe on Monday.
Meanwhile, United have also been linked with a potential move for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro as an alternative to Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot.
A potential switch for De Jong to Old Trafford continues to stall, while a proposed move for Rabiot to the Red Devils is seemingly at risk of collapsing as both parties are struggling to reach an agreement over personal terms.
