Nemanja Matic is reportedly open to leaving Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is reportedly open to leaving the club during the January transfer window.

The 31-year-old has only made three Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season and has not featured in any competition since the start of last month.

Matic is currently on the sidelines with an unspecified injury, although the experienced midfielder was also struggling for action when fit due to the form of Scott McTominay in the middle of the park.

Fred is also currently ahead of the Serbia international in the pecking order, and according to the Manchester Evening News, Matic is open to leaving Old Trafford at the start of 2020.

The report claims that the two-time Premier League title winner is concerned by his lack of action ahead of Serbia's possible participation in next summer's European Championships.

Matic, who will see his current deal expire at the end of the season, has been linked with a move to Inter Milan.

However, the Italian side's CEO Beppe Marotta recently played down suggestions that his club will be active during the winter window due to 'no great players being available'.
