Paris Saint-Germain outcast Mauro Icardi is supposedly open to making the switch to Manchester United this summer.
The former Inter Milan star struggled for form under Mauricio Pochettino last year, and his situation is not expected to improve under Christophe Galtier.
Icardi only found the back of the net four times in 24 Ligue 1 matches last term and is yet to play a single minute of top-flight football in the 2022-23 season for the champions.
With Kylian Mbappe and Hugo Ekitike providing alternative options in the number nine spot, a move to Old Trafford has been mooted as Icardi seeks to reignite his career.
Erik ten Hag's side are said to have been in contact with Icardi's wife and agent Wanda Nara, who recently pointed to the Argentine's PSG contract, which expires in 2024.

"He is under contract with the club for another two years. To release a player, you have to pay a lot of money and we are not in that situation," Nara told Corriere dello Sport.
"These are things that happen when you change coaches and the new coach makes other decisions. That's why there are also changes or transfers, it can happen.
"But there are many players who find themselves in this situation, in this club and in others. I am the only one who knows things. Not like others who talk without knowing anything."
Nevertheless, TyC Sports has claimed that Icardi would relish the idea of a move to the Premier League with Man United, who are desperately seeking reinforcements in the final third.
The report adds that the 29-year-old has also attracted interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray, who have been in consistent contact with Nara over a summer transfer.

A move to Man United or Galatasaray for Icardi may be on loan with an option to buy, and PSG boss Galtier has confirmed that he is working to find the Argentine a new club as he trains separately from the first team.
"I saw Mauro at the start of the week. His absence last week was for tactical reasons, I told him that I want to reduce the size of the squad and not work with 25 outfield players. The club is working closely with Mauro to find the best possible solution," Galtier told the press.
"He's had very little game time and I think it would be best for him to get back up and running. He hasn't suddenly lost everything [he can do] but it's true that it's been complicated for the last two years. Being able to change location, to find a more favourable environment, can help you get back on track in your career."
Icardi has totalled 38 goals and 10 assists in 92 appearances for Les Parisiens since joining from Inter in 2019, winning two Ligue 1 titles and two Coupe de France crowns in the process.
With Anthony Martial out injured again, Cristiano Ronaldo led the line for Man United against Brentford but was powerless to prevent his side suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat.
The Red Devils are now bottom of the Premier League table after two games, but Ronaldo is reportedly now set to stay at the club this summer amid a lack of interested parties.
