Milos Kerkez reveals he wants to play at "the top level of football" amid rumoured interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez has dropped a hint about a possible move to Liverpool or Manchester United in the near future.

The Hungarian international has been receiving rave reviews for his performances under Andoni Iraola at the Cherries this season, with Bournemouth up in sixth in the Premier League.

With a goal and two assists to his name already, Kerkez's athleticism has also been of note, with no player having made more overlapping runs than him in the Premier League this season.

Along with those two Premier League heavyweights, Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the player, who is valued at over £40m by Bournemouth.

In an interview with the Guardian, Kerkez has been talking about his career so far, and his future prospects, with one comment set to alert some of Europe's biggest clubs.

When asked about his ultimate goal in football, Kerkez replied: "I believe I can make it at the top level of football."

The Serbian-born Hungary international has already featured at a major tournament for his adopted nation, playing all three group games at Euro 2024, and he has experience in European club football too.

At AZ Alkmaar, where Kerkez got his big break, he contributed to eight goals on their run to the Conference League semi-finals, including a memorable goal at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio.

Liverpool the likeliest destination for Kerkez?

As close friends with Hungary team mate and Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, it can be deduced that a move to Anfield is certainly possible.

Arne Slot is set to enter the market for a left-back, especially given the drop off in performances from Andy Robertson, and the fact that Kostas Tsimikas is not viewed as a long-term replacement.

However, Liverpool will not be the only club vying for a top left-back's signature either in the summer or sooner.

Man United pair Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have endured injury hell over the past few years, and their futures at the club appear unlikely, with Ruben Amorim still often choosing to play Diogo Dalot out of position on that side instead.

Kerkez plays as a left wing-back for Hungary, so would fit seamlessly into Amorim's preferred 3-4-3 system if he was to make the move to Old Trafford instead.

Real Madrid may also be in the market, to upgrade on their current options of Ferland Mendy, who had a tough night at Liverpool recently, and Fran Garcia.

Kerkez has already been at one of the biggest clubs in Europe, signing for AC Milan from Gyor back in 2021, but he moved to AZ just a year later in search of first-team football, despite still only being a teenager at the time.
