AS Monaco have reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado as the ideal replacement for Manchester United-bound Radamel Falcao.
News broke this morning that Colombia international Falcao had agreed a season-long switch to Old Trafford, which he is expected to finalise before tonight's deadline.
Having also lost the services of James Rodriguez to Real Madrid earlier this summer, Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim is determined to bolster his attacking options, according to the Daily Telegraph.
That has resulted in the Ligue 1 outfit's pursuit of Soldado, who has been linked with a host of European clubs in recent weeks.
It is believed, though, that Soldado's availability will hinge on whether Spurs secure the services of England international Danny Welbeck from United.
