Newcastle United have reportedly retained an interest in signing Manchester United defender Phil Jones.
The Magpies were among the clubs who were linked with the England international during the summer, only for the centre-back to remain at Old Trafford.
However, the 28-year-old has no future at his current club, his last senior outing coming against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup in January.
According to Eurosport, Newcastle are prepared to make another attempt to negotiate a deal with United during the January transfer window.
The report suggests that United are prepared to part ways with Jones for a cut-price fee in a bid to get him off the wage bill.
Leicester City and West Ham United are also said to hold an interest in the player.
