North London rivals want Danny Welbeck?

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to battle it out to sign Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen to sign Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.

It was claimed yesterday that the England international has been told by Louis van Gaal that he has no future at Old Trafford under his management.

It would now appear that his opportunities of gaining regular match action at United have become even more limited, with Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria expected to become Van Gaal's fourth signing of the summer in the near future.

News of 23-year-old Welbeck's availability has alerted the managers of the Premier League's two North London clubs, with both considering making an approach early next week, according to The Mirror.

The report added that United would demand at least £15m for the England international forward.
