Ralf Rangnick's expected arrival as Manchester United's interim manager could reportedly hand the Red Devils a huge boost in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland.
Man United are likely to be one of a number of clubs in the battle for Haaland next year, with the 21-year-old expected to move on ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
A £63m release clause in the Norway international's contract will become active next summer, and a recent report claimed that Real Madrid are the forward's preferred destination.
However, according to AS, Rangnick, who is on the verge of becoming Man United's new interim manager, could help the 20-time English champions sign the in-demand youngster.
Rangnick played a key role in Red Bull Salzburg acquiring Haaland from Molde in 2019, and the 63-year-old is expected to move into a consultancy role at Old Trafford once his manager's contract has expired in May.
Haaland - also linked with Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona - has scored 70 goals and registered 19 assists in 69 appearances for BVB since making the move from Salzburg.
