Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic will join Manchester United for £9m in the summer, according to a report.
The 25-year-old has been linked with both United and their rivals Manchester City, with reports suggesting that the Bosnian prefers a move to Old Trafford.
Ferguson is believed to be scouting for a replacement for David de Gea and Anders Lindegaard, who are rumoured to be heading towards the exit door.
Potters boss Tony Pulis has so far refused to do business for Begovic, but the deadline-day arrival of Jack Butland means that he will seal a move to the Red Devils, according to The Mirror.
Begovic has impressed since his move to the Britannia Stadium from Portsmouth in 2010.
