Report: Nottingham Forest eyeing Nick Powell loan

Stuart Pearce reportedly wants Manchester United youngster Nick Powell to join him on loan at Nottingham Forest this season.

Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce is reportedly plotting a loan move for Manchester United starlet Nick Powell.

Powell did not feature under Louis van Gaal in pre-season and is thought to be heading out of Old Trafford on a temporary basis following a loan spell with Wigan Athletic last term.

The 20-year-old is said to be keen on another short-term stint away from the club and, according to The Mirror, Pearce wants him to join his new-look Forest team.

However, it is believed that United would prefer to send him to a fellow Premier League club to accelerate his development.

Powell struck 12 goals for the Latics in all competitions last season - including three in their Europa League campaign.
