Manchester City are reportedly ready to splash out £40m to bring Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake to the club in the January transfer window.
The Dutch centre-back has been one of the standout performers in the English top flight this season, leading to rumoured interest from Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
According to The Sun, Man City can be added to the growing list of Premier League suitors as Pep Guardiola has been keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old.
Ake can also fill in at left-back or defensive midfield and would boost the Citizens' home-grown quota, having started his career with Chelsea's academy.
Guardiola is said to rate the seven-cap Netherlands international as a world-class player in the making and will now attempt to push through a move early in the New Year.
