Report: Manchester United eye summer move for David Alaba

A report claims that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Bayern Munich's David Alaba and could make a summer bid, while Julian Baumgartlinger is also on their radar.

Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba is a summer transfer target for Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, according to a report.

The 24-year-old, who is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2021, is said to have been watched up close by United scouts during the international break.

It is claimed by The Mirror that Mourinho is looking to potentially bring in a left-sided defender and a defensive midfielder - positions the versatile Bayern star can take up.

As well as keeping tabs on Alaba, the same report suggests that Austria teammate Julian Baumgartlinger is also on the Red Devils' radar, which could spell the end of Morgan Schneiderlin's Old Trafford career.

Alaba is also thought to be a target for Real Madrid, while Baumgartlinger - who only joined Bayer Leverkusen from Mainz 05 in the summer - has also been linked with numerous other European clubs.
