Report: Manchester United hijack Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas bid

Various reports claim that Manchester United have made a last-ditch attempt to sign Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas from under the noses of Chelsea.

Manchester United have reportedly made a last-ditch attempt to sign Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas from under the noses of Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Spanish international is widely expected to leave the Camp Nou this summer, with former club Arsenal and Premier League champions Manchester City also believed to be in the picture.

Chelsea had reportedly been close to signing the 27-year-old, who is currently on international duty ahead of the World Cup.

However, according to various reports on Twitter, United have submitted a last-minute bid for Fabregas and offered the playmaker a more lucrative financial package to make the switch to Old Trafford.

Fabregas arrived at the Catalan outfit from Arsenal in 2011.
