Report: Manchester United want Nigel de Jong

Manchester United are reportedly still interested in signing AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong.

The Premier League outfit were strongly linked with a move for the Dutchman this summer, with Louis van Gaal a big admirer of the midfielder's talents.

The 29-year-old remained at Milan past the transfer deadline, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport, United will return with a bid in January.

De Jong could be available for a knockdown price, with his current deal due to expire at the end of this season.
