Reports: Gonzalo Higuain signs new Napoli contract

Arsenal and Manchester United target Gonzalo Higuain will extend his contract with Napoli, according to reports in Italy.

Premier League target Gonzalo Higuain is on the verge of signing a new contract at Napoli, according to reports in Italy.

The Argentinian striker is believed to be a target for Arsenal and Manchester United, but now looks likely to remain in Naples for at least another season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 27-year-old will extend his contract to 2019, but his buyout clause will be lowered if the Italian outfit fail to make the Champions League again next season.

Since joining Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013, Higuain has scored 51 goals in 98 games.
