Manchester United's incoming shareholder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will reportedly offer manager Erik ten Hag a substantial financial boost in the January transfer window.

Manchester United's incoming shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe will reportedly offer manager Erik ten Hag a substantial financial boost, potentially enabling a spending spree during the January transfer window.

The CEO of INEOS is expected to assume control of Man United's football operations in a matter of days and will be in a position to establish a close working relationship with the first-team manager.

Among the players strongly rumoured to be offloaded by United in January is Jadon Sancho, who has been excluded from the first team since his fallout with Ten Hag.

According to Football Insider, proceeds from the sale of first-team players like Sancho in January will be directly allocated to Ten Hag, which will allow him to strengthen the squad with new mid-season signings.

However, the report also adds that the revamp of the playing staff may have to wait until the next transfer window due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, following United's significant expenditures in the previous summer.

If Ten Hag wants to have some flexibility in the January transfer window, it becomes crucial for the club to offload players like Sancho, who is currently on a £250,000-a-week contract.

There have been numerous rumours linking the England international to Serie A club Juventus and his former employers Borussia Dortmund, while there has also been speculation about a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.

The Red Devils are currently in sixth place in the Premier League and will resume action with a trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on November 26.
