Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has said that the club are "making an effort to strengthen the squad" during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are in the market for a new striker, having terminated Cristiano Ronaldo's contract at the end of November following his shock interview with Piers Morgan.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are currently the club's only senior options at centre-forward, and the team are preparing to enter a busy run of matches due to their involvement in the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
Man United's two-legged Europa League knockout round contest with Barcelona will also take place next month.
Ten Hag said that he could not elaborate on the club's search for a forward addition, but the Dutchman confirmed that there was work ongoing behind the scenes.

"I can't tell you nothing about that. Definitely we have a good squad and especially in this moment we have a good team," Ten Hag told MUTV.
"But there are so many games coming and we need a squad for that and also to get a better balance in the squad, we are aiming for that. We are always looking for better.
"We are orientating and we are making an effort to strengthen the squad, but I can't tell you anything about it in this moment. When we can do, we will do it straight away."
Man United moved into fourth position in the Premier League table courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, with Rashford coming off the bench to score the winner.

The Red Devils will now be bidding to continue their strong form when they welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Ten Hag has said that the Cherries are capable of 'surprising' his side despite the fact that the home team will enter the contest as the heavy favourites.
"It's a team who can surprise and we have to be ready for that. They're a good squad with a good team and they can score a goal, and if you're not ready for the game then you will always have problems especially against Bournemouth as they have already shown that," he added.
Man United are currently preparing for four home games in succession, facing Everton in the FA Cup, Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup and Manchester City in the league before a trip to Arsenal on January 22.
