Manchester United are reportedly holding out to receive at least £30m for Mason Greenwood, with Lazio seeing an initial offer of £20m rejected by the Red Devils.

Manchester United have reportedly rejected a £20m bid from Italian side Lazio for out-of-favour attacker Mason Greenwood.

The 22-year-old spent the 2023-24 term on loan at La Liga outfit Getafe and impressed during his first campaign outside of the English system.

Greenwood recorded eight goals and provided six assists in 33 top-flight appearances, with 30 of those coming from the starting XI of Getafe.

After a 15th-placed finish and a slight relegation battle in the 2022-23 term, Getafe improved during the last season, ending up in 12th position.

Overall, Greenwood played in 36 competitive matches for the Spanish side across all competitions, finding the net on 10 occasions and providing six assists.

Man United 'reject' bid from Lazio for Greenwood

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Man United attacker Greenwood is wanted by a number of top European outfits this summer.

One of these is said to be Serie A outfit Lazio, who have made an initial step to securing the services of the Englishman in the summer window.

The report claims that Lazio have tabled a first offer of £20m for Greenwood, however they are going to have to work harder in order to secure their target.

It is believed that Man United have swiftly rejected Lazio's first bid for the striker, who is not short of options as he looks to make the next step in his career.

With the Red Devils rejecting the first offer, it is understood that Erik ten Hag's side are hoping to pocket at least £30m from the sale of Greenwood this summer.

Barcelona, Atletico Madrid also 'keen' on Greenwood

As well as Italian giants Lazio, there is said to be interest in Man United's Greenwood from La Liga, where the attacker spent a successful term in 2023-24.

It is understood that each of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Valencia would be keen on securing the services of the former England international this summer.

The latter have reportedly put in a £25m bid to Man United for Greenwood, whose preference is to return to Spain for the 2024-25 campaign.

Juventus have also been credited with an interest in Greenwood, however the Old Lady are said to have now turned their attentions to the capture of fellow Man United attacker Jadon Sancho.
