Aston Villa have reportedly reached an agreement with Barcelona to loan French defender Clement Lenglet for the 2023-24 campaign.
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur, making 35 appearances for the club in all competitions, including 26 outings in the Premier League.
Spurs were thought to be interested in re-signing Lenglet this summer, while there have also been reports of recent interest from his former club Sevilla.
However, Villa have recently emerged as the favourites, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a loan move to Unai Emery's side has now been agreed.
Romano claims that Lenglet flew to England on Wednesday to sign the official documents, and an announcement regarding the defender is now thought to be imminent.
Villa have been in the market for a new centre-back following news of Tyrone Mings's long-term injury, and Manchester United's Harry Maguire is also believed to have been considered.

Meanwhile, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Crystal Palace are currently pushing to sign Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho before the end of the transfer window.
The Nigeria international is set to leave Leicester in the final stages of the market, with a number of clubs believed to have expressed an interest in his services.
Plettenberg claims that Palace are willing to pay between £10m and £15m for the striker, but Leicester value him in the region of £18m, which has led to negotiations stalling.
Iheanacho is said to be keen to make the move to Selhurst Park, but it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.
The 26-year-old scored eight times in 35 appearances for the Foxes during the 2022-23 campaign.
Iheanacho has also started this season in the team despite the speculation surrounding his future, scoring once and providing two assists in five appearances.

Elsewhere, Luton Town are allegedly closing in on the signing of Man United's Teden Mengi.
The 21-year-old has only made two first-team appearances for the Red Devils, but he has had two spells in the Championship on loan at Derby County and Birmingham City.
Mengi is not in Erik ten Hag's plans at Old Trafford this season, and he is now seemingly preparing to leave the 20-time English champions before the end of the window.
According to the Daily Mail, Luton are closing in on his signature, with the centre-back emerging as an option after a potential move for Arsenal's Rob Holding failed.
The report claims that Mengi will move to the newly-promoted outfit for an undisclosed fee.
The former England Under-20s international has been with Man United since the age of seven, progressing through the various age groups at the club before making his first-team debut in August 2020.
