Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly preparing to go head to head for the signature of Lewis Towns, who is just five years old.
The schoolboy, who is also believed to be interesting Everton and Liverpool, is being closely monitored by Manchester's two leading clubs, according to The Sun.
The youngster's father, Adrian Towns, who is a football coach, has revealed that his son has "always been football mad", but he has been taken aback by the size of the interest in his five-year-old child.
"He's always been football mad. He would literally kick anything that was on the floor and even slept with a ball," Adrian Towns told reporters.
"Being with someone every day it's sometimes hard to see what's under your nose and we've been flabbergasted by the interest in him. But he's obviously got something."
Lewis Towns is currently training with Man City's elite football academy.
