Manchester United will reportedly step up their pursuit of free-scoring Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane with a £40m bid for the England international.
The young striker caught the eye of many last season, becoming the first Spurs player to score 30 goals in a season since Gary Lineker.
United have been heavily linked with a move for Kane, and the Daily Star claims that the Red Devils will increase their offer for the 21-year-old, who only signed a new deal with the Lilywhites in February.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is said to be holding out for closer to £50m for Kane, but United are thought to be confident of landing their target this summer.
Kane scored his first England goal against Lithuania in March, 79 seconds after coming on as a substitute for his first appearance.
