Manchester United will reportedly turn to Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez if they lose Paul Pogba to Real Madrid.
The French midfielder wants to leave Old Trafford this summer and Madrid are considered the firm favourites to land his signature.
Spanish outlet AS claims that plans are already being put in place ahead of Pogba's possible departure, as United chiefs have been in contact with their Atleti counterparts over a deal for Saul.
However, the report indicates that the Red Devils face a big task trying to persuade Los Rojiblancos to cash in.
Atletico have already lost some big names this summer, while Antonio Griezmann is expected to move on in the coming weeks, and they will therefore not sell Saul unless his release clause - believed to be around £135m - is triggered.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes has also been linked with a move to United in recent weeks.
