Manchester United have reportedly decided to proceed with an approach for Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj.
United are expected to be in the market for new full-backs during the summer with doubts remaining over the futures of Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind.
According to The Sun, manager Jose Mourinho has given the green light to activate Hysaj's release clause, which is allegedly set at £44m.
The 24-year-old has spent the last three seasons at the Italian giants, with 132 appearances having been made by the Albanian international in all competitions.
Hysaj still has just over three years remaining on his contract, but the player's release clause is likely to interest a number of clubs across Europe in the coming months.
